EDISON, NJ -  An observant patrolman arrested a guest at the Red Roof Inn, confiscating a loaded handgun, ammunition, and accessories used for drug distribution from the man’s car and motel room, police said.

Officer Richard Lorfing arrested Andres Nazario, 51, on multiple weapons possession and narcotics-related charges after he noticed Nazario talking for an unusually long time on a cellphone at 9:40 p.m. Thursday in the New Durham Road motel’s parking lot.

Nazario allegedly gave the officer a couple of fake names and claimed to be from out-of-state when the patrolman approached Nazario’s blue Audi to question him. He was also charged with hindering apprehension, police said.
