Edison, NJ - The Edison High School Boys Soccer team earned a 1-0 victory against the previously unbeaten New Brunswick Zebras on the road at Memorial Field on Tuesday. 

The team was led by senior captain, Andrew Solomon (assisted by Zach Arjmand) who scored what would be the game winning goal in the first minute of regulation play. 

The Eagles were able to hold onto the lead for the next 79 minutes with the contributions of captains, Maksym Bukachevsky, the goalie who recorded the clean sheet, and captain, Ahmed Ali who controlled the pace of play as the center midfielder.

The win moves the Eagles record to 4-2 and puts them in position to earn their 3rd consecutive appearance in the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group 4 State Tournament later this season.  It also puts the team back into the mix for the White Division Championship. 

When speaking with head coach Brian Murtagh, he was proud of this players for, "playing up to their potential both individually and as a team, and giving their maximum effort."  Coach Murtagh referred to assistant Coach Frank Eckert's tagline of players "Emptying their tanks" while playing in the game.  

The team is back in action on Thursday at 5 PM when they play Colonia High School at home.
