CRANFORD, NJ - Brisk morning air did not deter as many came out to join the Drug Prevention Walk and the “17th Annual Red Ribbon Day Celebration” that took place on Saturday October 17, at Nomahegan Park in Cranford. 

Pamela Capaci, CEO of Prevention Links along with Union County Freeholders spoke to the community about the event and how the money raised will befit the Raymond J. Lesniak Experience, Strength, and Hope Recovery High School. 

“We are moving toward a drug free America as well as removing the stigma for those in recovery,” said Daphney Dupervil the Head of Community Prevention Office at Prevention Links.

White and red flags were placed at the end of the walk. Each flag represents 100 New Jersey residents. The red flags showed the number of people who are in need of help, while the white flags showed the number who have gotten help. 

After the walk families stayed for a full day fun featuring, pumpkin and face painting activities, pony rides, arts and crafts for the kids along with health fairs and lots of give aways.

Westfield Firefighters Extinguish Small Blaze at Rock 'n' Joe's

WESTFIELD, NJ - A small electrical fire started around noon at Rock 'n' Joe's on Prospect Street on Saturday.
