CRANFORD, NJ - Prevention Links and the Health and Wellness Coalition of Union County are coordinating the 18th annual Union County Red Ribbon Drug Prevention Walk to raise funds for the state's fire public recovery high school.

The event will take place on Oct. 21, at Nomahegan Park, 1024 Springfield Ave. The walk will begin at 9 a.m., while the “Red Ribbon Free Family Fun Day” will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“As New Jersey and our nation continue to battle the heroin epidemic, Prevention Links would like to invite community members to join and unite with family and friends to end the stigma of addiction” Prevention Links CEO Pamela Capaci said.

Last year, several hundred families came out to enjoy the walk and participate in many activities such as face painting and pumpkin carving, all while supporting the Raymond J. Lesniak Experience, Strength, Hope Recovery High School.

“This year, we want to continue to support the high school and Prevention Links expanding efforts to support all New Jersey youth in recovery," Capaci added.

Visit the event's website to create a walk team and help raise funds for students in addiction recovery.
