On the night of January 22, 2019, almost 9,000 people - men, women, and children - were identified as being homeless in New Jersey. As the gap between the wealthy and the working poor widens, we must come together as a community to ensure that those in need around us are kept out of harm's way.

The 5th Annual Taste of Operation Warm Heart, to be hosted on Sat, Oct. 19th, 3PM-6PM at the Agape House of Worship, 239 E. 1st Ave, Roselle, NJ 07203, offers an opportunity for community members to join together, enjoy home-cooked meals, entertainment, all while supporting a nonprofit that assists all of Union County. The Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless runs the Operation Warm Heart program from December until March of each year, housing up to 14 adult men and women in various houses of worship throughout the Union County area. All proceeds from the Taste of Operation Warm Heart dinner will be used towards toiletries, blankets, and other supplies needed to help those who would otherwise be sleeping on the streets during New Jersey's coldest winter months.

Individuals can purchase tickets online, or at the door the day of the event. Adult tickets (14 years old and older) are $20, children ages 6 to 13 are $10, and children five years old and under can attend for free. Volunteers can also donate time and resources by signing up here. Sponsorship opportunities are also available for organizations and foundations interested in further supporting the cause. Those interested can reach out to Renaee Smith at rsmith@theelizabethcoalition.org, or Catherine Felegi at Catherine.Felegi@gmail.com.
