TRENTON, NJ - Ten students and two teachers from Elizabeth High School were at the State House on Monday as the quests of Assemblywoman Annette Quijano.

The students were shown the ins and outs of the legislature as they toured the Assembly and Senate committee rooms and joined Quijano on the floor of the Assembly as she ran the quorum vote.

“It was a great opportunity to teach beyond the textbook,”  said Quijano.

Quijano thanked all the people in the State House who took a few moments of their time to teach the students their roles in government affairs. She also gave a special thank you to Clerk of the General Assembly Dana M. Burley, Lynn Nowak, Sherwood Goodenough, and Assembly & Senate Sergeant-at-Arms.

“I believe they now have a better understanding of the important work that takes place under the gold dome,” said Quijano.
