Autism Awareness Film to Be Shown At City Hall

ELIZABETH, NJ – Autism Awareness Month continues to be observed with a screening of   Hands To the Sky, a short film written and produced by Elizabeth native Theodore JB Perkins, April 25, at 5:30 p.m., in the City Hall Council Chambers. 

The short film, which was shown in South Africa and a number of states across America, illustrates the experience of persons living on the autism spectrum.  There will be a brief discussion before and after the film, highlighting the many perspectives for individuals and families. Also to be discussed are advocacy measures taken on behalf of the city of Elizabeth, its residents and a number of organizations aimed at developing awareness, providing access to inclusionary programs and supporting individuals, families and communities living with autism and other related developmental and cognitive diagnosis.
