Back to School Drive Happy Hour Fundraiser Takes Place Tonight

ELIZABETH, NJ – Assemblywoman Annette Quijano is hosting her annual Back to School Drive/Happy Hour, benefitting homeless families. The event will be today, Wednesday, August 24, at La Estación next to the Elizabeth Train Station, formerly Orale at 5:30 p.m. 

Donations are accepted at the door, and online. Donors may bring a backpack with school supplies, such as pens, pencils, backpacks, ruled paper, 3-ring binders, composition/spiral notebooks, rulers, pencil cases, scissors, glue sticks, 2-pocket folders, highlighters, and color pencils/crayons.

Summer and winter clothing for men, women and children, accessories such as belts and socks, and shoes/sneakers are also needed. Attrndees may also $25 donation that will be used towards the purchase of a gift card for shoes. All donated items are requested to be placed in a tied plastic bag or backpack. All donations are tax deductible, and receipts will be provided for donated items or monetary donations.

For those unable to come to the event can bring donations of school supplies or clothing to the Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless directly.
