ELIZABETH, NJ –Whether you’re a professional cook or just a wonder in your own kitchen, you now have a chance to have your own original recipe added to Urban Griddle’s menu.

The popular restaurant is sponsoring a Recipe Contest and calling for original creations. The winner will see her or his dish listed on the blackboard. The successful chef can name the dish that will bear his or her name.

“To get our guests’ name on the board, that’s pretty cool to have their name and recipe on our menu,” said owner George Vlahos.

The deadline for submission is Saturday, April 1. Recipes, which can be for breakfast, brunch or lunch, can be submitted online at contest.urbangriddle.com. So far, Vlahos has received approximately 80 recipes.

“I thought I would only get about three or four recipes,” said Vlahos, smiling in amazement. “They are all great recipes. It’s just finding a recipe that will work in our setting, fast and quick service, that is the biggest challenge.”
