City Sponsors Free Rabies Vaccinations for Dogs and Cats

ELIZABETH, NJ – When making sure everyone in the family is healthy and up-to-date with shots, the city is reminding residents not to forget the four-legged members. To that end, the city is sponsoring a free dog and cat rabies vaccination for May 17, 20, 31, and June 3.

The schedule is as follows:

Wednesday, May 17, from 4 to 6 p.m., at City Hall, 50 Winfield Scott Plaza

Saturday, May 20, from 2 to 4 p.m., at Kellogg Park, Intersection of North and Madison avenues

Wednesday, May 31, from 4 to 6 p.m., at City Hall, 50 Winfield Scott Plaza

Saturday, June 3, from 2 to 4 p.m., Jackson Park, Intersection of Second Street and Broadway

The vaccines will be administered by a licensed veterinarian. Pet owners must bring the dogs on a leash and cats in a carrier. Animals must be 12 weeks old and older. Any dog or cat with a one-year certificate or who hasn’t been already been vaccinated are eligible. Pet licensing will also be available at every site.
