Eighty-Eight New Nurses Graduate from Trinitas School of Nursing

Eighty-eight students received their Associates in Science Degrees from the Trinitas School of Nursing, as well as, a Diploma in Nursing from Trinitas Regional Medical Center.

ELIZABETH, NJ – Fourteen Elizabeth residents were among the 88 students who received their Associates in Science Degrees at the Trinitas School of Nursing Convocation Ceremony held recently at Union County College (UCC).

TSON has been in continuous operation since it was first established as the Elizabeth General Hospital School of Nursing in 1891. The class of January, 2017 is the 157th class to graduate from the school. Included in the class are 23 graduates who entered the nursing program as Licensed Practical Nurses. As part of the cooperative nursing program, the graduates also received a Diploma in Nursing from Trinitas Regional Medical Center.

President & CEO of Trinitas Regional Medical Center, Gary S. Horan, FACHE, addressed the January 2017 graduating class with a few words of wisdom. “Always remember you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars and change the world, and I think this class will do just that!”

Vanessa Sousa of Elizabeth was among the graduates who received Nursing High Honors. Others were Jennifer Garcia, Newark,  and Amy Orsini, Beverly, New Jersey. Gennette Lorenzo of Elizabeth, was among those who received Nursing Honors that included Nyesha Barksdale, Linden, Jaida Blackwell, Roselle, Hallie Erica Byer, Berkeley Heights, Dornell Darby Maplewood, John C. De Guzman, West Orange,  Desiree Hendricks, Laurence Harbor, Danilyn Henson, Union,  Natalya Korpusova, Summit,  Sandra Lebrõn, Clark,  Caryll S. San Luis, Bound Brook, NJ), Diana J.
