ELIZABETH, NJ – With a deep and important history, the Elizabeth Fire Department has never had a female member of its ranks. On September 13, Union County Freeholders honored 35-year old Sheena Spence, a mother of three, as the City of Elizabeth Fire Department's first Female Firefighter.

Freeholder Chairman Sergio Granados and Freeholder Angle G. Estrada presented a resolution to firefighter Spence congratulating her becoming part of a long line of courage and bravery.
