ROSELLE PARK, NJ – Elizabeth resident Jahlil Y. Zamora, 30, was arrested Jan. 20 by Roselle Park Police for physically assaulting a man on the street and attempting to take his wallet, according to police.  

A person witnessing an attack, notified Roselle Park Police of the assault taking place at approximately 1:04 p.m., in the area of W. Clay Ave. and W. Grant Ave. Police said, the witness stated a man walking in the area was being physically assaulted by another man, and the attacker was forcibly removing the man’s wallet. 

When police arrived, Ptl. Richard Gaylord reported that he separated the two individuals involved and arrested Zamora.

Police said, Zamora was later charged with 2nd. degree robbery and 3rd degree theft and was lodged into the Union County Jail with no bail awaiting his first appearance. 

The 39-year-old male victim was treated on the scene for his injuries sustained during the incident. The wallet was also recovered at the scene. The witnesses name was not released.
