NEWARK, NJ — A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Reginald Swinney, 29, of Elizabeth, in connection with a burglary that occurred on Monday, February 17, in Newark. 

According to Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose, that just before 4:30 a.m., police responded to an East Ward residence on a call of a burglary. A suspect entered the apartment and removed two pairs of Adidas Yeezy sneakers, valued at $440.00.

Detectives investigating the incident identified Reginald Swinney as a suspect and have obtained a warrant for his arrest on a charge of burglary.

Authorities said while police are actively searching for Swinney, they seek the public’s help in quickly locating him as part of this investigation. 

Swinney is described as 5’7” tall and 150 lbs. He has a dark brown complexion, black hair and brown eyes.

Director Ambrose urges anyone with information about the whereabouts of Reginald Swinney to call the Department's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).  All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
