ELIZABETH, NJ – Elizabeth Police were kept busy today with a stolen car with a child inside and an armed robbery.

At approximately 1 p.m., a maroon Honda Pilot was reported stolen with a child inside on Chestnut Street. The suspect, who was later taken into custody, had left the child unharmed in a car seat on East Grand Street.

The robbery originated on Acme Street where two victims were pistol-whipped. Union County Police approached a group of males and a foot pursuit ensued. Two suspects are now in custody.
