ELIZABETH, NJ — Elizabeth Public School families can now sign up to be tested for COVID-19 for free through early next week.

Superintendent Olga Hugelmeyer announced that the free testing will take place at the Thomas Dunn Sports Center on Pearl Street. The tests are open to anyone including those that are uninsured, undocumented and homeless. OptumServe will be conducting the testing by appointment only.

Appointments can be scheduled online for adults only using your student's iPad or laptop. If you do not have internet or are having issues you can call 877-207-7571 to schedule an appointment. All appointments scheduled for a minor must be made over the phone. Time slots for appointments are 15 minutes long.

At the appointment you will need a photo ID and proof of address like a bank statement or a utility bill. You will also need your health insurance card if you have one, but it is not required to get the test done. There will be nurses and translators at the Dunn Center to help with the testing process and to make sure everyone is getting the proper information.
