ELIZABETH, NJ - The African American Heritage Day Parade Committee has announced this years Annual African American Heritage Day parade will be held on Sunday, September 10, at 2 p.m. 

Residents of Elizabeth and surrounding cities are invited to this event. The parade will begin at Union Square (Elizabeth Avenue and New Point Road).  The procession will proceed up Elizabeth Avenue to Winfield Scott Plaza and conclude at City Hall.

The years theme for the parade is saluting African-American athletes from the City of Elizabeth.  The honorees have demonstration exceptional skills while competing in high school, college, and on a professional level.

The Parade Committee stated in a press release, “We are excited about honoring the past, embracing the present, and cultivating our future with pride and dignity.”
