ELIZABETH, NJ – Elizabethtown Gas formally adopted Vincent’s House, a house which is owned and operated by the Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless. Vincent’s House is house designated for working homeless families in need of housing. The working poor are the fastest growing homeless population as rents become harder to afford. This program receives no governmental support.

On Friday, June 23, Elizabethtown Gas presented the Elizabeth Coalition with a $10,000 check. The funds will go towards maintaining and operating the house, social work services, and direct assistance to the families in need. Nearly all the families that live in Vincent’s House go on to move to permanent housing.

On hand at the event were Linda Flores-Tober, Executive Director, Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless; Tina M. Earley, Government and Community Affairs Manager, Elizabethtown Gas; host family, volunteers and board members.
