ELIZABETH, NJ – It was a swept for Elizabeth firefighters over the Elizabeth police officers at the Annual Charity Basketball Game in Dunn Sports Center, April 2.
In the Over the Hill Game for players 40 years old and older, the firefighters won by two points after they made two clutch free throws with 2.1 seconds left in the game. In the second game, the fire department won 63-57. “Nonetheless,” said Police Officer Louis DeMondo, one of the event organizers. “It was a very successful event.”
All proceeds to support Elizabeth Parent Support Group, St. Mary's basketball program, and a donation to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in honor of city employee Bridget Anderson.
