Firefighters Promoted in City Hall Ceremony

ELIZABETH, NJ – Six Elizabeth firefighters were promoted in a ceremony that took place this morning, April 26, at City Hall.

Mayor Christian Bollwage, along with Fire Director Onofrio Vitullo and Chief Tom McNamara, presided over the proceedings. Also present were City Council President Carlos Torres and Council members Nelson Gonzalez and Kevin Kiniery.

“Thank you for your leadership and your families for the fine work you are about to do,” the mayor told the six firefighters. “Thank you for keeping our community safe. Thank you for keeping our community healthy.”

Of the six promoted, four were made captains, one a fire official, and one an EMT supervisor.
