Foodie Paradise-Rotary Sets Eleventh Annual “Taste of Elizabeth”

ELIZABETH--The Rotary Club of Elizabeth, celebrating its 100 year of service to the greater Elizabeth community, will feature the unique food-tasting event, The Taste of Elizabeth XI on Monday, October 16 from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.at the Renaissance Hotel, 1000 Spring Street in Elizabeth.

Doug Harris, Chairman of this year’s Taste of Elizabeth said, “Each year, the Taste combines the greater Elizabeth area’s newest and most exciting restaurants, together with many popular traditional eateries.  To have so many tempting selections all in one location, on one night, is truly outstanding.” 

“The best part is the fact that all profits from the event are given to area charities by the Rotary Club of Elizabeth.”  More than 40 restaurants, bakeries and beverage vendors will participate in this year’s tasting – and their selections will all be available to the public for the low price of $35.” Harris said.

More than 40 restaurants, bakeries and beverage vendors will participate in this year's tasting. Some of this year's vendors include: Alvarez Café, Elizabeth; BarCode, Elizabeth; Bayway Liquors, Elizabeth; Beach Haus Beer, Belmar; CATB Liquor Imports, Paterson; Charles Jacquin Cie, Inc., Garwood; Circle Barbeque Café, Elizabeth; Come Grow With Us Gardens, Elizabeth; Climax Brewing Co, Roselle Park and Don Felix Bar & Restaurant, Elizabeth.

During the event. guests will also be able to participate in a 50/50 raffle.  

Funds raised from the event will enable the Rotary Club to continue to provide financial grants to local non-profit agencies and to provide college scholarships through the Albert & Louise Davis Scholarship Fund of the Rotary Club of Elizabeth, Inc. 

Since 1986, the Davis Fund has granted $538,000 in scholarships to promising Elizabeth High School students. 

In addition, the Club is fulfilling a $10,000 pledge to the new Emergency Department at Trinitas Regional Medical Center.

Tickets for Taste of Elizabeth XI are priced at $35 and can be ordered online through the Rotary Club’s website: www.ElizabethRotary.org.
