Free Citizen Workshop Takes Place Saturday, March 19

Credits: Make the Road New Jersey

ELIZABETH, NJ – Assemblywoman Annette Quijano has partnered with Make the Road New Jersey, Jewish Family Services, and NALEO Educational Fund to host a free Citizenship Application Assistance Workshop, Saturday,  March 19, from 11 to 2 p.m., at the Snyder Academy, 42 Broad Street on the corner of Caldwell Place.

The New Americans Campaign (Taller De Ciudadania) offers assistance with citizen applications, fee waiver and legal consultation for eligible, permanent residents (asistencia con la solicitud de ciudadania, exencióde pago u consulta legal para residents permanents elegibles).

The assemblywoman explained, “We have many people in Elizabeth who can benefit from this free citizen workshop and begin their path to citizenship. Anybody thinking about applying for citizenship should stop by and see the great services being offered. This really is a great opportunity that shouldn’t be missed.”

Interested residents should bring the following:

  • Green card, social security card, state ID, and all passports issued since the green card was issued (Tarjeta de residencia, tarjeta de seguro social, ID del estado y todos los passports emitidos desde que obturo la residencia)
  • Marriage or divorce certificate (acta de matrimonio o de divorcio)
  • Certificates of disposition for all arrests, citations, or court documents even if charges were dropped (docmentos de la corte de arrestos, o convicciones aunque los cargos feran retirados o borrados)
  • Documents for fee waiver; means tested benefits letter, income taxes (documentos para solicitor la exoneración de pago: carta de beneficios del estado o prueba de ingreso)
  • Home addresses and job history for the last five years (lista de domicilios y trabajos de los ultimos 5 años)
  • List all children, names, date of birth, residency numbers, and addresses (lista de todos sus hijos, nombre, fecha de nacimiento, numero de residencia y direccion)
  • List all trips made outside of the U.S. in the last five years (lista deviajes fuera de EU en los ultimos 5 años)
  • Two passports size photos (dos (2) photos tamaño pasaporte)

All documents must be in English. (Todos los documentos en otro idioma tienen que seer traducidos en Ingles.)
