KENILWORTH, NJ - A free networking mixer event this Wednesday will help veterans and active duty military members connect with each other and learn about programs available to them.
UC HERO, a program from Union County's Office of Veterans' Affairs, will host the mixer Aug. 23 at the Club House at the Galloping Hill Golf Course, located at 3 Golf Drive in Kenilworth from 6 to 9 p.m.
“Experience in the military has provided many Union County residents with valuable skills and training,” said Freeholder Chairman Bruce Bergen said in a statement. “We’ve designed this mixer to help our veterans and active duty military connect with more resources and apply their unique life skills to new opportunities for education, employment and entrepreneurship.”
The UC HERO program launched in 2016 as an initiative of Bergen. It enhances opportunities for education, employment and well-being for eligible veterans and active duty service members and their families in the county.
The mixer is free and will include complimentary food tastings. Pre-registration is required by contacting Janna Williams at 908-527-4918 or email@example.com.
Additionally, UC HERO will host a camping trip on Sept. 16-17 at the Scout campground in Union County’s Watchung Reservation.
