ELIZABETH, NJ — In the aftermath of tropical storm Isaias the City of Elizabeth received hundreds of requests for removal of fallen tree limbs.

The City has identified fourteen locations around Elizabeth where a tree has fallen on a power line. In a statement Mayor Bollwage wrote about the process for getting a tree removed, “PSE&G needs to visit the area and ensure it is safe before [the Dept. of Public Works] can do so.”

PSEG is currently reporting that just over 1% of Elizabeth customers are without power, which is significantly lower than the average for Union County, which is more than 8.5%. However, PSEG is estimating that power will not be fully restored until August 10.

Outages and down power lines can be reported by logging in to your account on the PSEG website or by texting “OUT” to 4PSEG or 47734. To report in Spanish call 1-(800) 436-PSEG (7734).
