Jets Kickoff PLAY 60 Program Set For Elizabeth Public School Students

ELIZABETH, NJ--The New York Jets will kickoff their PLAY 60 program on Wednesday, October 18, 2017, the event will be equipped by Modell’s with more than 4,000 fourth and fifth-grade students from Elizabeth Public Schools. Led by Taneka Bowles, wife of Elizabeth, NJ, native, Todd Bowles, students will be given a presentation introducing them to the PLAY 60 program.

Participants will receive a Jets backpack and a game planner to track their fitness. Jets Legend Erik Coleman and Flight Crew Cheerleaders will also appear to discuss the importance of getting 60 minutes of activity every day.

The presentation will feature a special video message from Coach Bowles encouraging students to take part in the program and strive to be their best. Top performing students from each grade will be entered into a drawing for tickets provided by Todd and Taneka to attend a Jets game this season.

Session 1 will begin at 10:00 a.m. and session 2 will begin at 12:30 PM at the Thomas Dunn Sports Center 600 Pearl St. in Elizabeth

The Jets PLAY 60 program equipped by Modell’s will challenge students to get 60 minutes of activity every day over a four-week period. The New York Jets have taken a stance in the fight against childhood obesity through fitness and nutrition programs under the Jets PLAY 60 platform.  The partnership brings together the Jets passion for helping children live healthy lives and Modell’s vision to make sports accessible to everyone, as well as their commitment to programs that support families, youth, education and physical activity.
