ELIZABETH, NJ – Linden Firefighters brought home the trophy as the winner at the Third Annual Heroes on the Court Basketball Tournament that took place Sunday, May 21, at the Harwood Sports Center at Kean University.

The Linden team won after a hard fought battle with the Elizabeth Police team. This fundraiser brought together 24 teams of law enforcement professionals and firefighters for a great cause, scholarships to Kean University, Union County College, and Memorial scholarships for children of officers. The teams included Air Marshals, Port Authority officers, TSA teams, Union County Sheriffs, Elizabeth and Perth Amboy Police teams New Jersey State Police, New Jersey and Union County Department of Corrections, and the City o Elizabeth, including firefighters from Elizabeth, Linden, and Hillside.

The tournament raises money for scholarships to Kean University, Union County College, and Memorial Scholarships for children of officers.

Goethals Bridge to New Jersey to be Closed Friday Night through Sunday
