ELIZABETH, NJ - Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting of a city man who was found in his driveway early this morning, the Union County Prosecutor’s Office said today.

Elizabeth police responded to reports of shots fired in the area of 5th Avenue and Niles Street at 2:50 a.m. today, authorities said, when they found the 33-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound in the driveway of his home.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

The incident remains under investigation by the Union County Homicide Task Force, Elizabeth Police Department, Union County Sheriff’s Office Identification Unit and Union County Police Department Ballistics Unit.
