May the Fourth be With You, It’s Star Wars Day

PLAINFIELD, NJ - In 1977, George Lucas’ Star Wars hit theaters.  This May 4th, celebrate forty years of fandom on Star Wars Day.

The history of this day dates to an ad placed in the London Evening News in 1979 congratulating Margaret Thatcher as she took office as UK Prime Minister.  The ad proclaimed, "May the Fourth Be With You, Maggie."  It was a play on words for the infamous line, "May the Force be with You." 

This year, TBS will be airing the first six movies in order on television, in a marathon that kicks off at 6:40 am.  Here's the full lineup:
