Newark Man Leads Roselle Park Police on a Chase Through Roselle and Elizabeth

ROSELLE PARK, NJ - A Newark man led police on a high speed chase that went through multiple towns before being stopped in Elizabeth. 

According to police, Courtney D. Baker, age 30 of Newark, was arrested after a chase took place as Baker drove at a high rate of speed recklessly through the streets of Roselle Park, Roselle and Elizabeth at approximately 02:09 a.m Sat. morning. 

Roselle Park Ptl. Marino said, he attempted to stop the 2015 Chevy that was being driven by Baker for an equipment violation as well as a registration check.

Police say, a chase ensued and the vehicle came to rest in a large pile of snow on Linden Ave. in Elizabeth where Baker was taken into custody and determined to be driving under the influence.

The registration check revealed the registered owner to be a suspended driver and vehicle to be unregistered. 

Police said, Baker was arrested by Roselle Park Police Officers for eluding police while in a motor vehicle and driving while intoxicated.

Baker was charged with (2nd degree) Eluding and D.W.I. He was processed and released on a summons. Motor vehicle summons were also issued in Roselle Park, Roselle and Elizabeth.
