Niche.com Ranks Best Catholic High Schools in NJ for 2017

NEW JERSEY -- Real estate website Niche.com has released its 2017 Best Catholic High Schools in New Jersey with Delbarton School in Morristown at the top of the list.

Among schools in Union or Middlesex County, Oak Knoll and Oratory Prep (Summit) ranked 4th and 5th respectively, Mount Saint Mary Academy (Watchung) ranked 9th, Saint Joseph High School (Metuchen) ranked 13th, and Union Catholic (Scotch Plains) ranked 20th among the Top 25 schools on the list.

Niche.com's 2017 Best Catholic High Schools ranking is based on analysis of data from the Department of Education, test scores, and reviews from students and parents (Niche users). Data is also collected from schools directly. The ranking is based on rigorous analysis of the following statistics:

  • Composite SAT/ACT Score --  Average SAT/ACT composite score (normalized to the same scale), as reported by Niche users from this school. 30.0%
  • Top Colleges Score -- Average score of colleges that students are most interested in or go on to attend, based on Niche Best Colleges ranking. (Self-reported by Niche users) 25.0%
  • College Enrollment-- Percentage of seniors who go on to four-year colleges. (source: National Center for Education Statistics) 15.0%
  • Culture & Diversity Grade -- Based on racial diversity and survey responses on school culture and diversity from students and parents. 10.0%
  • Parent/Student Surveys on Overall Experience -- Survey responses scored on a 1-5 scale regarding the overall experience of students and parents. (Self-reported by Niche users) 10.0%
  • Student-Teacher Ratio -- Ratio of students to full-time teachers. (source: National Center for Education Statistics) 10.0%
