ELIZABETH, NJ - Police say they are still investigating a shooting that took place on a busy stretch of  Routes 1 and 9 in Elizabeth sometime between 5:15 and 5:45 a.m. on Saturday morning and offering a reward for information. 

Authorities say, a 28-year-old Elizabeth man, was in critical condition after he was shot while driving his white BMW SUV on U.S. Routes 1and 9 near McClellan Street close to the Newark-Elizabeth border, by someone in a dark-colored SUV or pickup truck. 

Authorities are asking for any eyewitnesses to the shooting to contact the Union County Prosecutor’s Office Detective Nicholas Falcicchio at 908-721-8186 or Elizabeth Police Department Detectives Luis Demondo or Jose Martinez at 908-558-2052.
