NEW JERSEY - A reminder for anyone traveling, be advised that the Lane closings continue on the Bayonne Bridge, Outerbridge Crossing, George Washington Bridge and Holland Tunnel.
Lane closings are planned for the Bayonne Bridge, Outerbridge Crossing, Holland Tunnel and the George Washington Bridge this weekend and/or next week for ongoing construction and repair projects.
The bridge will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., Monday night through Thursday night, January 7 through January 11, for ongoing construction work.
To accommodate upgrades to the bridge’s toll collection system, expect construction work in the toll plaza areas and intermittent overnight bridge lane closures.
One westbound lane in the tunnel will be closed during overnight hours through Thursday, January 10, from 11:59 p.m. each night through 5:30 a.m. the following morning. These closures are needed for ongoing tunnel repairs.
One eastbound lane in the tunnel will be closed during overnight hours through Thursday, January 10, from 11 p.m. each night through 5 a.m. the following morning. These closures are needed for ongoing tunnel repairs.
George Washington Bridge:
The ramp connecting the eastbound upper level of the George Washington Bridge to West 178th Street in Manhattan is closed for up to 12 months for deck replacement. Passenger cars seeking access from the bridge to local streets in Manhattan should take Exit 1 towards Route 9/Henry Hudson Parkway and follow detour signs to West 181st Street in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan. Trucks over 13 feet, 6 inches in height will not be permitted to use the bridge during the duration of the project. Trucks under that height seeking access to local streets should take Exit 2 to Amsterdam Avenue.
One lane on the upper-level westbound Trans-Manhattan Expressway and one lane on the lower level westbound Trans-Manhattan Expressway will be closed from 12:01 a.m. to 8 a.m. on Sunday, January 6.
