ELIZABETH, NJ - Kason Little 18, and a “Student Advocate” at John E. Dwyer Technology Academy in Elizabeth received a surprise when he opened his email to find a response from President Obama.

According to Little, he emailed President Barack Obama in October to let him know how much he is missed and thanking him for his hardships and sacrifices he made for our country.

Little said, he was surprised when he received an email back from the President in November thanking him and telling him to “stay engaged in the world around you, continue looking for ways to help others, and never give up on yourself.”

The email from President Obama is below.

Dear Kason:

Thank you for writing to me. In the emails I receive from young people like you, I see the creativity and patriotism, selflessness and ingenuity of your generation, and nothing gives me more hope that our best days are still to come.

Your generation holds the greatest stake in our future and a primary role in shaping it, and in the coming years, America will look to you to help solve our most difficult challenges. As long as you stay engaged in the world around you, continue looking for ways to help others, and never give up on yourself, I'm confident our future will be bright.

Know that I'm rooting for you in all you do, and I wish you the very best.

Sincerely,

Barack Obama

“President Obama was, and still to the day is a hero, a leader, someone that I look up to. When it is my time to run as a government official, I will definitely look to follow his footsteps. said Little. “Leaders like President Obama gave me true hope for the stakeholders of tomorrow and my generation! When the day comes for my own inauguration, will be a day like no other!”

Little has been listed recently as an honorable mention in the “Insider NJ’s List of African-American Political Power List” that was posted in honor of Black History Month.
