”The Coffee House” JFS Program for People Living with Memory Loss
Debuts at the JFS Halpern Building in Elizabeth
A new weekly 4-hour social and recreational program for people living with Memory Loss called “The Coffee House at JFS” takes place on Mondays, from 10 AM – 2 PM, at the JFS Halpern Building, 655 Westfield Avenue, Elizabeth, NJ. JFS of Central NJ is a non-sectarian health and social service agency serving the entire community.
The “Coffee House at JFS” is a new and innovative program serving adults who have mild-moderate memory loss due to cognitive changes caused by some type of dementia or a stroke. Uniquely designed, the program seeks to enhance the overall well-being of each participant in a safe and stimulating environment. The program provides an opportunity to use and strengthen physical and cognitive abilities and skills, increase self-esteem, and offers an opportunity to be social.
A morning snack, light lunch (dietary laws observed) entertainment, and activities are offered. Ample on-site parking is available. The program cost is $40 per day. We accept all major credit cards. Financial aid may be available upon request.
”The Coffee House at JFS” is funded by the Brookdale Foundation, Merck, Inc., Neighbor of Choice, and the Wallerstein Foundation for Geriatric Life Improvement.
