ELIZABETH, NJ – Freeholder Chairman Mohamed S. Jalloh and Freeholder Sergio Granados joined Elizabeth Mayor J. Christian Bollwage and Elizabeth Council President Patricia Perkins-Auguste to review the ‘Art Outside the Box’ artist submissions that will be featured on traffic control boxes at three Elizabeth intersections.

In the coming days, online voting will open up for residents to pick the top three favorites.

Art OutsideThe Box is a countywide public art project to be applied to the exterior of select Traffic Control Boxes (TCB) in Union County. An initiative of the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders, the project’s goals are to integrate the arts into non-traditional venues; to expand the reach of the arts to broaden and diversify public exposure, interest in, and access to the arts; to expand exhibition opportunities for Union County visual artists; and to welcome cultural tourism to Union County.  The theme of this art project is Diversity.
