MAYOR BOLLWAGE TO HOST PLAY BALL SUMMER 2018 ON AUGUST 16 AT HANRATTY FIELD 2:00 - 4:00 PM

The end of summer is approaching, but there's still time to enjoy one of everyone's favorite summertime activities -- baseball.  On Thursday, August 16, Elizabeth's Mayor Bollwage will host the annual Play Ball Summer celebration at Hanratty Field, 914 E. Westfield Avenue. The fun begins with Skills & Drills from 2-4 PM, followed by the Mayor's Trophy Game at 5:30 PM.

All are welcome to come out and celebrate summer, practice their batting, catching and pitching skills, and cheer on local players and baseball legends, including Al Hawkins, former MLB player and current coach at Montclair State, and high school baseball standout, Anthony Colleti, Jr.

Mayor Bollwage has hosted Play Ball Summer events for the past four years.  He is one of more than 300 mayors across the country to participate in PLAY BALL, a joint program sponsored by Major League Baseball (MLB) and the U.S. Conference of Mayors. Over the last three years, baseball has seen a 49.1% growth in casual participation, which is in direct correlation to the launch of the PLAY BALL initiative.
