ELIZABETH, NJ — The Fred Erxleben Recreation Center will be opening up its swimming pool this summer for Elizabeth residents. The pool is expected to be open from July 4th to Labor Day this year.
The swimming pool is going to be one of the only regular summer activities that will still be operating this year. Summer Camp and other summer programming have all been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Pool access is going to be free for Elizabeth residents. However, in order to properly comply with the Governor’s social distancing guidelines only 50 people will be allowed in the facility at a time.
The City has not yet announced what it’s plans are for reopening the two splash parks and seven spray fountains it operates. All regular playgrounds are still closed until further notice.
