ELIZABETH, NJ - The Mills at Jersey Gardens is now permitted to open June 29th. Governor Murphy announced during his daily COVID briefing, that indoor shopping centers would be permitted to reopen.
“All mall customers will be required to wear face coverings,” said Gov. Murphy, with exemptions only for children under two and people with medical conditions. Stores at Jersey Gardens will be limited to 50% capacity and all employees will be required to wear face masks.
“Food courts must remain closed or cordoned off,” Gov. Murphy added. The over 20 restaurants and fast-food places will have to continue to serve take out only. More than half of which are also currently delivering.
Jersey Gardens has been closed since Gov. Murphy ordered all shopping malls and indoor retail stores closed on March 17. Some shops within the mall began to offer online ordering with curbside delivery in May.
The AMC theater at Jersey Gardens will remain closed until further notice.
