UNION COUNTY, NJ -- The Union County Emerald Society is celebrating its 38th Anniversary with its annual Pub Night fundraiser that celebrates Union County’s Irish Heritage. The Society will also be recognizing an Elizabeth woman and a Roselle Park business owner from Union at the event. 

The fraternal organization of law enforcement officers and firefighters of Irish descent will honor Publican Marc Dowling of Dowling’s Irish Pub & Restaurant in Roselle Park as Irishman of the Year and Past General Chairwoman of the Union County St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee Kathy Noonan as Irishwoman of the Year. Both honorees are proud members of the Joseph Nugent Sr. Association and are active in the local Irish American community.

The event is set for Saturday, Oct. 19, at 7 p.m. at the Kenilworth Veterans Center located at 33 South 21st Street in Kenilworth.

Irish entertainment will be provided by Captain and O’Neil. Tickets include beer, wine, soda, and snacks and cost $25.

The Union County Emerald Society has deep roots in the communities of Union County and strives to celebrate Irish heritage and culture while also supporting important causes including Project Children and the Union County Baseball League.
