Monday, June 17

VISIT BY THE MOTOR VEHICLE MOBILE UNIT

(10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., 622 Salem Avenue, Elizabeth) - Mayor Bollwage will welcome back the Motor Vehicle Mobile Unit at the O’Donnell Dempsey Senior Center parking lot. Residents can use the mobile unit to renew or obtain a duplicate driver license, obtain a non-driver ID, renew their vehicle registration, or even obtain a Person with a Disability, Purple Heart, or Disabled Veteran parking placard.

Tuesday, June 18

LEAD DAY GRADUATION CEREMONY

(9:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., 600 Pearl Street, Elizabeth) Mayor Bollwage will attend the L.E.A.D. graduation ceremony at the Dunn Sports Center.

NJ REENTRY PROGRAM COMMUNITY BREAKFAST

(9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., 205 East Jersey Street, Elizabeth) - Mayor Bollwage will receive an award from former NJ Governor Jim McGreevey, in recognition of the City’s service and support of the NJ Reentry Program. It will be held at the Cristo Te Llama Church.

UNION COUNTY COLLEGE YOUTH CORPS COMPLETION CEREMONY

(11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., 40 West Jersey Street, Elizabeth) Mayor Bollwage will attend the Union County College Youth Corps Completion Ceremony, held in the Kellogg Building.

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 19

JUNETEENTH FLAG RAISING

(5:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., 2 Broad Street, Elizabeth) - Mayor Bollwage will join the Juneteenth Planning committee and the Union County Freeholders at the first Juneteenth Flag Raising Ceremony. This event will be held at the Union County Courthouse.

Friday, June 21

SOFT SERVE WITH AN OFFICER

(5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., 300 Williamson Street, Elizabeth) - Mayor Bollwage will attend Soft Serve with an Officer, where residents can meet and speak with police officers from the Elizabeth Police Department, while enjoying free ice cream from Magic Fountain Ice Cream and Grill.

Friday, June 21

5th ANNUAL JUNETEENTH FREEDOM BALL

(6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., 1000 Spring Street, Elizabeth) - Mayor Bollwage will join the Juneteenth Planning committee at the 5th Annual Juneteenth Freedom Ball at the Renaissance Hotel.

Saturday, June 22

PLAYSTREETS

(10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., 23 Fernwood Terrace, Elizabeth) - Mayor Bollwage will join Third Ward Councilman Kevin Kiniery and community members at the Third Ward Playstreets celebration. This family-friendly event, held in front of the Elmora Racquet Club, is recommended for ages 6 through 14 and will include a morning of games, raffles, giveaways and more. It is sponsored by the City of Elizabeth, Councilman Kevin Kiniery and Shaping Elizabeth. For more information, please contact 908-820-4051.
