NURSING HOME WEEK CELEBRATION (10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., 1048 Grove Street, Elizabeth) - Mayor Bollwage will present a proclamation in honor of Nursing Home Week at the Elizabeth Nursing Home.
TUESDAY, MAY 14, 2019
CITYWIDE CLEAN UP (9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., 50 Winfield Scott Plaza, Elizabeth) - Mayor Bollwage will attend the Elizabeth Citywide Cleanup, which kicks off in front of City Hall. This is a citywide cleanup effort, where hundreds of volunteers from City, County and private organizations come together to clean and beautify the neighborhoods throughout Elizabeth.
TRANSPORTATION SUMMIT (10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., 11 South Broad Street, Elizabeth) - Mayor Bollwage will join Lifelong Elizabeth and the City’s Office on Aging Bureau at a Transportation Summit in celebration of Older Adult Month at the Elizabeth Public Library. The forum will talk to residents about the many transportation options available to them and becoming a safe driver. Informational tables will feature organization such as: NJ Transit, AARP Driver Safety, NJTIP @ Rutgers, City of Elizabeth Transportation Department and Office on Aging, AAA & Carfit, Union County Paratransit, AccessLink, Uber/Lyft and many more. RIBBON CUTTING OF THE PORT AUTHORITY ELIZABETH OUTREACH OFFICE (2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., 79 West Jersey Street, Elizabeth) - Mayor Bollwage will attend the grand opening and ribbon cutting of the Port Authority Elizabeth Outreach Office.
HAITIAN FLAG RAISING (5:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m., 50 Winfield Scott Plaza, Elizabeth) Mayor Bollwage will join members of the Haitian Flag Day Planning Committee as well as members of the Haitian community and Elizabeth residents for the Haitian flag raising ceremony in front of City Hall.

POLICE WEEK (10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., 200 Monmouth Road, Elizabeth) Mayor Bollwage will attend events in honor of Police Week, which will begin with a Blue Mass at St. Genevieve’s Church at 10:00 a.m., followed by the laying of wreaths in front of Elizabeth Police Headquarters.
BRIDGEWAY COMMUNITY WELLNESS FAIR (1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., 567 Morris Avenue, Elizabeth) Mayor Bollwage will attend the Bridgeway Rehabilitation Service’s Community Wellness Fair. The event will feature information on Mental Health Month, health exams, community connections, art instruction, BBQ, face painting. Kids and friendly dogs are welcome.

4th ANNUAL LEAD DAY JAMBOREE (4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., 515 Richmond Street, Elizabeth) Mayor Bollwage will attend the 4th Annual LEAD Day Jamboree at the Fred Erxleben Recreation Center. The event will include entertainment and activities for the whole family as well as light refreshments. V EDUCATIONAL FORUM (10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., 40 West Jersey Street, Elizabeth) Mayor Bollwage will attend the V Educational Forum at Union County College in the Kellogg Building. This event was created to inform young adults about the opportunities available at the colleges and universities in the surrounding area. 15th ANNUAL PLAY BALL FOR MIRACLES SOFTBALL TOURNAMENTS & 3RD ANNUAL CHIEF KELLY MEMORIAL MATCHUP (9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Warinanco Park, Elizabeth) - Mayor Bollwage will attend this year’s 15th Annual Play Ball for Miracles charity event and the 3rd Annual Chief Kelly Memorial Matchup. All proceeds benefit the Children’s Specialized Hospital and PSE&G Children's Hospital. The event will begin at 9:00 a.m.

16TH ANNUAL TOUR DE ELIZABETH (9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., City Hall, 50 Winfield Scott Plaza, Elizabeth) Mayor Bollwage will participate in the 16th Annual Tour de Elizabeth, which is a family-friendly, 15-mile recreational tour of the City of Elizabeth’s historic neighborhoods. CUBAN DAY PARADE (1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m., Elizabeth Avenue and High Street, Elizabeth) Mayor Bollwage will join members of the Cuban community and other Elizabeth residents at the Cuban Day Parade. The event will begin at Union Square and will conclude in front of City Hall, located at 50 Winfield Scott Plaza.
