Volunteer Tutors Needed for Boys & Girls Clubs of Union County

UNION, NJ - The Boys & Girls Clubs of Union County is looking for volunteer tutors to help with the after school program at the Union facility. Students range in age from Kindergarten through High School.  

The subject areas immediately needed are Elementary & Middle School Mathematics, Elementary & Middle School Language Arts, and Middle School Science & Social Studies. Tutors for other subjects/grades are also needed.  

“Tutoring a great way to make a difference in a child’s life and be involved in the community”, said Russell Triolo, Chief Executive Officer. “Tutoring allows our members to focus on subject areas beyond school, which provides them with increased knowledge.”

The facility based in Union, offers youth programs in 5 communities in Union County: Plainfield, Elizabeth, Union, Hillside and Roselle. Teen leadership programs for ages 14-18 are available in Union, Elizabeth and Plainfield. Members participate in character, leadership, career preparation and community service activities throughout the year.  Aquatics instruction is available at the Union Club.

NJ Transit Service To Resume Monday After Friday's Derailment in Union

UNION, NJ – New Jersey Transit reports the Raritan Valley Line trains will resume regular weekday service between Cranford and Newark and High Bridge and Raritan on Monday.  Train service was suspended over the weekend after the freight train derailment in Union on Friday afternoon.
