ELIZABETH, NJ - An all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast will mark The Rotary Club of Elizabeth’s 46th Annual Pancake Breakfast, set for Saturday, March 28, from 8 a.m. to noon in the cafeteria at Victor Mravlag School #21, 132 Shelly Avenue, Elizabeth. Tickets are priced at $10 (student ticket price is $5). The event will also feature musical entertainment from Elizabeth students, and a bake sale.
Proceeds from the event will go toward the Club’s charitable giving program and will also assist the Albert and Louise Davis Scholarship Fund of the Rotary Club of Elizabeth. This year, the Rotary Club will provide in excess of $15,000 in grants to local charitable organizations, and an additional $38,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors from Elizabeth High School.
Among its many activities, the Rotary Club of Elizabeth provides free dictionaries to all Elizabeth Third Grade students, plus students in Hillside and Linden. The Albert & Louise Davis Scholarship fund has awarded over $600,000 in scholarships to 383 graduating Elizabeth High School students since 1986. The annual Pancake Breakfast allows the Rotary to continue this level of giving to the Elizabeth Community. Another major fundraiser of the Club is the Taste of Elizabeth, held each year in October.
