ROSELLE, NJ - Ariana Eastwood, a student at Linden High School, received the Leadership Award at Concrete Rose Project's 2nd Annual Hidden Figures Youth Excellence Awards on Friday.
Eastwood, a senior at Linden High School has a 4.1 GPA and is a member of the Chinese National Honor Society and National Honor Society. She has consistently received academic honors including High Honor Roll and Distinguished Cadet, as an officer of the Linden high school’s NJROTC unit.
Eastwood will be attending the University of New Haven in the Fall to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Forensics, with a double minor in Communications and Mandarin Chinese.
She is also a graduate of the Governor’s STEM Program and Leadership Training Conference.
The was held on May 3, at Central Park located at 2401 Wood Avenue in Roselle.
Other students to be honored at the event are Kayla Polite-Hutchins (Roselle) Arts and Culture Award; Jesseka Nunley (Roselle) Athletics/Sportsmanship Award; Syrenity Cunningham (Rahway)Visionary Award; Iyana Frye (Elizabeth) Humanitarian Award; and Johnai Price (Roselle) Bashon A. Rose Perseverance Award.
Concrete Rose Project is community-based 501(c) 3 non-profit organization that operates throughout the Greater Union County, New Jersey. Its mission is to "empower today's youth by guiding them towards the path of success and away from the negative social factors that are plaguing our society.
