ELIZABETH, NJ - When Salaam Ismial, the chairman of the National United Youth Council Inc,. heard that a hospital in his hometown was experiencing a shortage of medical equipment similar to the other area healthcare facilities, he solicited the assistance of community advocate James Carey and Assemblyman Jamel Holley.

The trio, have partnered to organize a medical equipment drive for Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth, New Jersey.  The hospital is currently experiencing a shortage of surgical gowns.  The group is appealing to residents, organizations and businesses in and around Union County to donate masks, gloves and surgical gowns.
