ELIZABETH, NJ - The Elizabeth City Council voted on Tuesday night to rescind the contract with the Lime scooter company.

In an 8-0 vote, Elizabeth City Council Members decided to end the program with Lime Scooters. The Council also stated that all scooters are to be removed immediately.

This comes after the November 20, fatality that claimed the life of 16-year-old Nelson Miranda Gomez, of Elizabeth. Gomez was killed while riding on a Lime scooter when he collided with a large tow truck in the area of Elizabeth Ave. and South Spring Street.
