UNION COUNTY, NJ - There are several free recycling events coming up for the month of May hosted by Union County.  

Mobile Paper Shredding Events: 

Friday, May 3, in Warinanco Park in Roselle (in the parking lot across from the Skating Center).Saturday, May 11at Nokia-Bell Labs on Mountain Avenue in New Providence.

Both events will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. or until the truck(s) get filled. Residents can bring up to four bags of confidential documents for shredding.

Union County’s Scrap Metal Recycling program also continues in May.  

The events are the first Thursday and Third Saturday of each month. The collections will be on Thursday, May 2, and Saturday, May 18.    

There are two (2) locations in Union County for residents to drop off their metal for recycling, one in Cranford and Rahway.  All locations will be open from 9 a.m. to noon. 

Residents can drop off old appliances, microwaves, air conditioners, and metal lawn furniture to name a few.
