ELIZABETH, NJ - The City of Elizabeth’s free Rabies Vaccination Program continues in the month of October with multiple dates and locations. A licensed veterinarian will administer the vaccine. All dogs and cats must be on a leash, and cats also must be in a carrier. 

All dogs or cats with a one-year certificate or any dog or cat not previously vaccinated is welcome. and all dogs and cats must be 12 weeks or order. Dog and cat licensing will also be available at each location.

The dates for these events are as follows:

  • Wednesday, October 9, at City Hall, 50 Windfield Scott Plaza from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Saturday, October 12, at Jackson Park, 136 Second Street from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Wednesday, October 23rd, at City Hall, 50 Winfield Scott Plaza from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • A pet costume contest will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, at Kellogg Park, 1145 Fannie Street. The vaccination program will be held there from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The program is sponsored by Mayor J. Christian Bollwage, The City of Elizabeth and the Department of Health and Human Services.
