MOUNTAINSIDE, NJ -  The Elizabeth Fire Dept. was called in to assist when a driver of a car that hit a house on Summit Road in Mountainside Friday evening was brought to Overlook Hospital with what appears to be minor injuries, according to officials.

The Mountainside Police and Fire Department responded to the scene where a car left the roadway and struck a home at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

Elizabeth Engine 7, Rescue 1, Battalion 3, Battalion 5, EMS 77 (Medical Bus) and Special Operations were dispatched and responded.

The fire department worked to ensure and evaluate the structural stability of the home that suffered structural damage.
