ELIZABETH, NJ - The Lifelong Elizabeth Program, under Jewish Family Service of Central NJ, hosted a “Walking Safety Presentation” for residents on Wednesday at the Hace E’port Community Center in Elizabeth. 

Sgt. Brian Clancy of the Elizabeth police department provided participants with tips on walking safely and the benefits of wearing a safety vest. Participants were given a tip sheet and a free safety vest courtesy of a grant from the Rotary Club of Elizabeth, the Grotta Fund for Senior Care, and Jewish Family Service of Central NJ.

The event was presented in both English by officer Clancy and Spanish by Carlos Herrera Asst. Project Manager for Lifelong Elizabeth. Video of the event can be seen in its entirety below.

The program was made possible through a generous grant from the Grotta Fund for Senior Care. Lifelong Elizabeth is a community-led, city endorsed, initiative that aims to make Elizabeth an age-friendly community to grow up and grow old.

Jewish Family Service of Central NJ is a non-sectarian health and social service agency with a history of over 100 years of providing a vast array of personalized services to 7,000 individuals a year in Union County.
